Editorial Policy
How PlumbAdvisor researches, edits, reviews, and corrects homeowner plumbing content.
Research Process
Articles are based on homeowner plumbing problems, manufacturer documentation, building-code concepts, safety guidance, trade terminology, and editorial review of the migrated WordPress archive.
Source Standards
Editors prefer manufacturer manuals, public safety agencies, code bodies, utility guidance, and clearly dated product documentation.
Safety-Sensitive Content
Gas, combustion, carbon monoxide, sewer, mold, electrical, pressure, water-heater, main-line, and permitting topics are treated as safety-sensitive. Consumer-facing pages should not teach unlicensed gas-line work.
Updates and Corrections
Submit corrections at Corrections or email editorial@plumbadvisor.com.
AI Tools and Human Review
AI tools may help with drafting, migration cleanup, audits, and formatting. Human editorial review is required for trust pages, safety guidance, product-review claims, and correction responses.
Product-Review Standards
Product and comparison pages must disclose whether they are hands-on tested or research-based, provide selection criteria, include data freshness language, and disclose advertising or affiliate relationships before affiliate links.
Licensed Plumber Review Policy
Pages involving gas work, combustion, carbon monoxide, sewer hazards, electrical components, pressure systems, permitted work, or code-sensitive installation should be reviewed by an appropriately qualified professional or noindexed until reviewed.
