How to Clean a Blanco Silgranit Sink Without Damaging the Surface
Clean Silgranit-style composite sinks with manufacturer-approved methods, avoiding abrasives, bleach misuse, and acidic products that can damage finish or surrounding stone.
For everyday cleaning, wash a SILGRANIT sink with dish soap and the soft side of a damp sponge, rinse and dry with a microfiber cloth. For a mineral film, use a method BLANCO recommends for SILGRANIT and rinse thoroughly. Protect adjacent faucet finishes and never mix cleaning chemicals.
Everyday cleaning
- Remove loose debris and wet the soft side of a sponge. Add dish soap.
- Wipe the basin in small circles, including the sides and around the drain.
- Rinse with clean water and dry with a microfiber cloth. Drying helps limit visible mineral deposits.

Hard-water deposits
A pale film, especially visible on dark colors, can be mineral buildup rather than a change in the sink’s color. BLANCO’s US cleaning advice describes approaches to hard-water deposits. Start with the mild daily wash; if the film remains, follow the linked instructions for the sink surface. Keep vinegar away from finishes or surrounding materials whose manufacturers do not permit it. Rinse and dry afterward.
Metal marks
For dark metal-transfer marks from pots on a light SILGRANIT sink, BLANCO describes applying a little cooking oil to the soft side of a wet sponge and rubbing in circles. Wash away the oil with dish soap and warm water, then dry. This method is for metal transfer, not a repair for a scratched or damaged surface.
What to avoid
BLANCO’s international care guide advises against drain cleaners, chlorine cleaners, lyes, solvents and abrasive cleaners on SILGRANIT. Do not use steel wool or abrasive pads, which can mark the surface. Do not mix vinegar with bleach or any other cleaner. Rinse away one product completely before using another. Follow the care instructions for the exact sink and consult BLANCO if a mark remains or the surface appears damaged; aggressive scrubbing can make the problem worse.
Stop if water reaches a cabinet, wall, floor, or electrical part, or if a shutoff or fixture starts to move when it should not.
